Two people were killed after a two-vehicle collision on the Golden State (5) Freeway at the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp in Downey on Wednesday night, November 26, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at 11:37 p.m. and found a gray car, a second vehicle, and the victims blocking the middle lanes of the southbound freeway.
Paramedics from the Downey Fire Department pronounced both victims dead at the scene. Their names, genders, and ages were not immediately released.
The crash caused multiple lanes of the southbound freeway to be blocked for more than three hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
