A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Santa Maria on Tuesday night, December 3, 2024.
The incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Orchard Street and Broadway. Santa Maria police arrived to find the pedestrian lying in the southbound lanes of Broadway.
The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
