A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Fe Springs on Sunday evening, December 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:12 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway just south of Valley View Avenue.
A witness reported that a vehicle ran over the pedestrian, who was down in the lanes, and did not stop. CHP officers stopped traffic at Carmenita Road and requested that Caltrans close the HOV lane and lanes 1 and 2 for the investigation.
Authorities did not provide information on why the pedestrian was in the roadway or whether he was an adult or a juvenile.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
