[12-16-2024] One Killed, Two Critically Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash East of OrcuttOne person was killed, and two others sustained critical injuries following a three-vehicle collision east of Orcutt, Santa Barbara County, on Monday afternoon, December 16, 2024.

According to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Scott Safechuck, the crash occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of East Clark Avenue, east of Presquile Road.

Emergency responders from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and other agencies arrived at the scene and extricated individuals trapped in one of the vehicles.

One patient was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others with major injuries were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center via American Medical Response ambulance. Safechuck confirmed that all three patients were occupants of the same vehicle.

No injuries were reported among occupants of the other two vehicles involved in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
