A man and a woman were killed after a big-rig struck a parked Honda Accord on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sunland, Los Angeles County, on Friday night, April 3, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched at 9:52 p.m. to the eastbound freeway, east of Sunland Boulevard.
A preliminary investigation found that a Freightliner truck tractor was traveling eastbound on Interstate 210 when it collided with a Honda Accord that was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Authorities said the impact trapped the two victims inside the Honda. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. They were later identified as 25-year-old Wern S. and 23-year-old Alejandra S.
CHP said the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Authorities have not determined whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
