[07-01-2026] Fresno County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Dakota and Fruit Ave.

A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Central Fresno on Wednesday night, July 1, 2026.

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers responded just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Dakota and Fruit avenues after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Authorities said a silver SUV was traveling eastbound on Dakota Avenue and made a left turn onto Fruit Avenue when it collided with a westbound motorcycle. Investigators noted that both the driver and the motorcyclist had a green light at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was found lying in the intersection and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

Police said the driver fled the scene northbound on Fruit Avenue and did not stop. The Fresno Police Department is continuing to investigate the hit-and-run crash and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
