A woman in her 30s was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles early Friday morning, August 28, 2026.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Ardmore Avenue and 8th Street.
Police said a Mercedes-Maybach SUV was traveling southbound on Ardmore Avenue when it collided with another vehicle traveling westbound on 8th Street. The second vehicle spun out of control and struck a pole.
The woman driving the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released her identity.
According to police, the Mercedes continued off the roadway after the initial collision, striking a streetlight, several parked vehicles, and a fire hydrant before coming to a stop on the sidewalk. The Mercedes driver was detained at the scene. It was not immediately clear whether any charges would be filed.
Video from the scene showed another woman being transported by ambulance, but authorities did not immediately confirm her connection to the collision or provide information about her condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
