[09-03-2026] Fresno County, CA – Driver Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Fresno Airport

A driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash that damaged a power pole near Fresno’s airport on Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2026.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Shields and Sierra Vista avenues.

Police said a truck owned by Poverello House was pulling a City of Fresno trailer westbound on Shields Avenue when a sedan traveling in the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn. The truck driver attempted to maneuver around the sedan, lost control, and struck a power pole.

The sedan driver, described by police as an older woman, was extricated from her vehicle and treated for a possible broken ankle. She was subsequently transported to a hospital. The truck driver was not injured. 

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
