A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Long Beach early Thursday morning, September 10, 2026.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash was reported around 1:45 a.m. near Atlantic Avenue and Villa Park.
Police said the SUV was making a left turn from Villa Park onto northbound Atlantic Avenue on a green traffic signal when it collided with a Honda motorcycle traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist allegedly entered the intersection against a red traffic signal before the collision.
The motorcycle rider was killed in the crash. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Additional information about the SUV driver or possible injuries to other people was not immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
