[09-18-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Van Nuys

A man in his 30s died after being struck by an SUV in a hit-and-run collision in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, early Friday morning, September 18, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred at around 3:45 a.m. on Sherman Way, just west of Sherman Circle.

Police said a dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Sherman Way struck the man. The driver then fled the area in the vehicle.

The victim, described by police as a Hispanic man in his 30s, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.

Another driver who witnessed the collision stopped on Sherman Way and contacted authorities.

Police are searching for the driver and asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the LAPD Valley Traffic Division.
