[05-06-2024] Passenger Injured Following Suspected DUI Vehicle Crash on northbound I-5 A passenger was injured following a suspected DUI vehicle crash on northbound I-5, Los Angeles County, on Monday night, May 6, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 10:30 p.m. on northbound I-5, north of Lake Hughes Road. 

Authorities stated that the suspect was driving the Isuzu pickup truck with a passenger when he failed to brake and rear-ended a big rig. As a result, the passenger sustained major injuries. At this time, there is no available information regarding the condition of the injured victim. 

Police said that the driver, identified as a 25-year-old man, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was charged with felony DUI.  

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is highly encouraged to contact the authorities.
