[10-23-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash in Covina

One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Covina early Friday morning, October 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. at Via Verde.

Video from the scene showed significant damage to both vehicles as emergency personnel responded.

CHP said four left lanes were expected to remain closed until at least 9:00 a.m.

Separate crashes also disrupted eastbound I-10 traffic in El Monte, West Covina, and Fontana. All lanes at Peck Road in El Monte reopened following a SigAlert.

A motorcycle crash was reported at Holt Avenue in West Covina, but whether anyone was injured was unclear.

In Fontana, a big rig and sedan collision at Etiwanda Avenue blocked two right lanes at approximately 3:30 a.m. Those lanes reopened around 5:48 a.m.

Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crashes were not immediately available.
