[05-19-2024] One Person Killed, Three Others Injured Following Single-Vehicle Collision in TracyOne person was killed, and three others were injured following a single-vehicle collision in Tracy on early Sunday morning, May 19, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:04 a.m. on I-580 east of Chrisman Road. 

Authorities stated that a Toyota sedan was approaching eastbound on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle during a turn. As a result, the vehicle crossed the median into the westbound lanes of I-580, crashing with the guardrail before hitting the highway perimeter fence.

The front passenger of the sedan sustained serious injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.

Police said that the driver and the right rear passenger were taken to San Joaquin General Hospital with serious injuries, while the left back passenger was transported to Sutter Tracy for minor injuries. The extent of injuries remains unclear.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be the factors of the collision. 

Further details on the incident have yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
