According to the authorities, the incident occurred around 2:32 p.m. at the northbound State Route 71 at Rio Ranch Road.

It all began when the Fontana Police Department located a stolen black 2022 Dodge Ram TRX around Tamarind Avenue and Santa Avenue in south Fontana. When the FPD approached the suspect vehicle westbound on Jurupa Avenue, its driver, later identified as 22-year-old Victor H., suddenly sped off, initiating a lengthy police chase.

The now-speeding Dodge pickup truck went north on Sierra Avenue and onto the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway. Officers continued pursuing the suspect as he traveled through several cities in an attempt to escape.

The pursuit ended when the stolen pickup truck crashed into several other vehicles at the northbound State Route 71 at Rio Ranch Road in Pomona. The impact of the collision reportedly caused the pickup to roll over.

According to reports, passengers in the other vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to Pomona Valley Hospital for treatment. The total number of vehicles and people involved was not immediately available. The extent of the injury sustained by the victims and their present conditions were also undisclosed.

Victor H., meanwhile, was taken into custody after the crash. He was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance and was later booked at West Valley Detention Center.

No further details were provided. Police work is underway.
