A 73-year-old woman was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in Winnetka, Los Angeles, on Tuesday afternoon, June 2, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 8300 block of Lurline Avenue near Roscoe Boulevard.
Authorities stated that a 73-year-old woman was accidentally struck and run over by a vehicle. Investigation showed that the victim and another person were attempting to push a car from a driveway onto Lurline when the collision happened. Due to the severity of the impact, the woman sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of this writing, it is unknown if anyone else was injured. There is no word yet if the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim stayed or fled the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
