A child around three years old was injured after being struck by a vehicle in a residential neighborhood in Montebello on Thursday evening, October 24, 2024.
According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 8:40 p.m. in the 800 block of North Wilcox Avenue. Initial reports suggest the child was wandering alone in the area when the collision happened.
Montebello Police confirmed the child was conscious and breathing upon the arrival of first responders and had sustained abrasions to the leg. Minutes after the incident, officers located the child’s mother.
Medical personnel treated the child at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for additional care.
The incident remains under investigation.
