A 40-year-old man was fatally injured after a hit-and-run collision on Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, January 7, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. as the man was crossing Figueroa Street at West 53rd Street in an unmarked crosswalk near the Harbor (110) Freeway.
Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling northbound on Figueroa Street at a high speed struck the pedestrian. The suspect vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
