Three people were hospitalized after a hit-and-run driver crashed into the back of a self-driving taxi in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night, February 6, 2025.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 10 p.m. in the area of Grand Avenue and West Pico Boulevard as heavy rain fell in the city.
Passenger Andrew T., who was inside the Waymo taxi with three friends, stated that their vehicle was struck from behind. Three of the passengers were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene and crashed again into two parked cars about a block away before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Authorities are actively searching for the hit-and-run driver. The investigation is ongoing.
