A multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lower Azusa Road and Durfee Avenue in El Monte resulted in one fatality on Sunday afternoon, February 16, 2025.
According to the Arcadia Police Department, officers responded to reports of the collision just before 3:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, emergency responders with the Arcadia Fire Department determined that the driver of one vehicle had succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Authorities have not disclosed how many vehicles were involved or whether there were additional injuries. Footage from the Citizen App showed severe damage to at least two vehicles and first responders attending to a patient nearby.
The Arcadia Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the crash.
