A woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision near the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles early Friday morning, May 16, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Florence and Towne avenues.
Witnesses reported that the driver was traveling eastbound on Florence Avenue when they struck the woman as she was crossing the street.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The driver fled the area without stopping to render aid. No vehicle description has been provided at this time.
The incident is under investigation by the LAPD Central Traffic Division.
