[06-28-2025] Los Angeles County, CA – Two Killed, One Seriously Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on Atlantic Avenue in Compton

[06-27-2025] Two Killed, One Seriously Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on Atlantic Avenue in ComptonTwo people were killed and another sustained serious injuries following a three-vehicle crash in Compton on Friday night, June 27, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred around 9:17 p.m. near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Sportsman Drive, just east of the 710 Freeway overpass. 

Authorities reported that one vehicle was traveling south on Atlantic Avenue when it collided with another vehicle under the freeway. The initial vehicle continued traveling southbound and struck a third vehicle.

The occupants of the first and third vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

First responders used tools to extricate the victims from the wreckage, which ended up on a bridge above the Los Angeles River.

The identities of the individuals involved have not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
