A man and his 4-year-old niece sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Compton on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
According to witnesses, the crash occurred in a restaurant parking lot when a vehicle suddenly struck the man, identified as 36-year-old Walter, and his niece, Mia. Walter was reportedly shielding Mia at the time of the collision.
Walter remains in a coma, while Mia is recovering from severe lacerations to her face and head.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark green Toyota 4Runner bearing California license plate 4KHB558. The driver fled the scene.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as the investigation remains ongoing.
