One person was killed and another was injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Lake County on Sunday evening, July 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol and fire dispatch reports, the crash was reported shortly before 7:00 p.m. in the 19000 block of Big Canyon Road at Harbin Springs Road near Middletown. Responding units located a red Chevrolet pickup truck on its side, blocking the roadway.
Fire personnel reported that one occupant was trapped under the bed of the truck, while a second individual was found sitting outside the vehicle. An air ambulance was requested, but shortly after 7:15 p.m., responders confirmed that one person had died at the scene. The coroner was called to the location.
Later that evening, the vehicle was towed and secured as evidence. CHP stated that the driver sustained minor injuries, including facial and back lacerations.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
