A pedestrian was killed after being struck by at least one vehicle in the lanes of the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello on Sunday evening, August 31, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were notified around 7:45 p.m. of the incident on the westbound 60 Freeway beneath the Paramount Boulevard bridge.
Witnesses reported that the pedestrian initially fell, got up, and ran into traffic again, where he was struck by another vehicle. Another witness stated that the individual had jumped from the overpass onto the freeway.
The CHP issued a SigAlert around 8:25 p.m., closing westbound lanes 1 through 5. Lanes 4 and 5 reopened to traffic at 8:46 p.m.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
