A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Gardena on Sunday night, September 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 11:00 p.m. near South Western Avenue and 148th Street.
The woman was struck by a vehicle while with her son. The driver initially fled the scene without rendering aid. Debris, including a bumper and a license plate, was left at the site of the collision. The victim’s son was not injured.
The driver later turned themselves in to police and is in custody in connection with the fatal hit-and-run. CHP issued a SigAlert and closed the intersection while authorities cleared the debris and investigated the crash.
The investigation into the fatal collision remains ongoing.
