[10-17-2025] Man Killed After Being Struck by Pickup Truck While Crossing Pacific Coast Highway in Long BeachA man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach on Friday morning, October 17, 2025.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded around 6:23 a.m. to Haynes Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, where they found the pedestrian, who was administered life-saving aid by officers until paramedics arrived. Despite efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of his relatives.

A preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was crossing Pacific Coast Highway when he was struck by an eastbound 2023 Ford F-150 driven by a 40-year-old man from Wilmington. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Detectives are still unclear whether speed, distraction, or impairment played a role in the collision.
