A pedestrian walking on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, was struck and killed on Wednesday night, November 26, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at 10:12 p.m. to the southbound 405 Freeway at Victory Boulevard and learned the victim had been walking in the HOV lane when a vehicle struck the individual.
The pedestrian, whose name, gender, and age were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
