[04-24-2024] 40-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle Along 5 Freeway Off Ramp in Arleta40-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the neighborhood of Arleta in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at about 8:46 p.m. along the 5 Freeway offramp at Osborne Street.

A 50-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius when she reportedly swerved off the road and lost control before hitting a woman on the sidewalk.

The Hyundai motorist drove through the intersection and collided with a 2018 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 67-year-old woman.

Emergency personnel found the pedestrian down and pronounced her dead at the scene. Unconfirmed reports stated that she was unhoused.

The driver and the teenage passenger of the Toyota sustained minor injuries, while the Hyundai driver was unharmed.

The authorities dismissed alcohol and drugs as factors in the fatal collision.
