A driver suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the southbound State Route 14 and Interstate 5 split in Los Angeles County, on Wednesday morning, November 4, 2026.
According to California Highway Patrol Newhall-area spokesperson Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, the crash was reported around 9 a.m.
A Chevrolet Silverado crossed lanes, traveled down an embankment, and collided with a Nissan 2500 on I-5, Burgos-Lopez said.
The male Silverado driver was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The Nissan driver was uninjured and remained at the scene.
The Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes were closed for approximately an hour and a half. All lanes had reopened by 11 a.m.
CHP said DUI was not suspected. The crash remains under investigation.
